While all the Ham Radio Deluxe® are being rewritten, the following approach will be taken to maintenance releases for v6.9 or later:
- Once an application has been released for v6.9 or later, maintenance releases will be published as frequently as changes have been tested.
- Applications that have not been released for v6.9 or later will not have maintenance releases until their rewrite has been released.
Thus far, only the Logbook rewrite has been published. This is version 6.9.
The most frequent questions we get are the following:
What's in this release?
The answer to this question can be found in the release notes: https://releasenotes.hamradiodeluxe.com
What's the status of the item I reported?
The unresolved defects for Logbook can be found here: https://mantis-logbook.hamradiodeluxe.com/
Why don't you fix all the open items before publishing a release?
We did that for v6.9 because we needed to test rewritten code. It was a long wait for customers. At this point - once something has been fixed and tested, there's no reason to hold it. We'll bundle up changes periodically and publish them.
Why did you publish a release without fixing the item I reported?
The prior question answers part of this question. But generally speaking, the priority of work that flows through the development queue is dependent upon the impact to users across the entire population of customers. The most severe things will get fixed first. That said, the list is very small and everything will get resolved in a reasonable amount of time. We have developers dedicated to this purpose.
