Embrava Blynclight Installation Guide
Installing an Embrava Blynclight is a two-part process involving a physical connection and the installation of the control software. Follow these steps to get your device operational.
1. Physical Hardware Installation
The Blynclight is a plug-and-play USB device designed for immediate recognition by modern operating systems.
- Unpack the device: Ensure you have the Blynclight unit and the included Micro-USB to USB-A cable.
- Connect to PC: Plug the Micro-USB end into the back of the Blynclight and the USB-A end into an available port on your computer.
Note: It is recommended to plug the device directly into the PC or a powered USB hub to ensure it receives consistent voltage for the LED array.
2. Software Installation (Embrava Connect)
While the hardware is plug-and-play, the Embrava Connect utility is required to manage the light's status and allow third-party applications to interface with it.
- Download: Visit the Embrava Software Page and download the installer for Windows.
- Install: Run the downloaded
.exefile. Follow the installation wizard prompts, accept the license agreement, and complete the setup. - Launch: Once installed, look for the lowercase "e" icon in your Windows System Tray (located near the clock).
3. Configuration & Functional Testing
Before integrating with other platforms, verify the light is responding to manual commands:
- Right-click the "e" icon in the system tray and select Open Embrava Connect.
- Navigate to the Manual or Devices tab.
- Select a color (e.g., Red, Green, or Blue) from the interface. The Blynclight should illuminate immediately.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Device Not Found: Try a different USB port or a different USB cable if the light fails to illuminate during testing.
- Software Permissions: Ensure that Embrava Connect is allowed to run at startup so that it is always available for background notifications.
- Hidden Icons: If the software icon is missing, click the "up arrow" in your taskbar to reveal hidden system tray applications.
